On November 3-4, 2017, Palisades Lutheran Church will be sponsoring a FMSC (Feed My Starving Children) event at Pali High School.

Palisades Lutheran will be partnering with the Administration and Students Body of Pali High, Palisades Chamber of Commerce, the Palisades community at large and anyone willing to volunteer time and resources to help eradicate hunger in the world one person at a time.
500 volunteers, financial support and your prayers are all needed to make this event the overwhelming success we know it will be.

SHIFT INFORMATION:

Friday, November 3rd
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm- Set Up (15 Volunteers)

Saturday, November 4th
9:00 am – 11:00 am- Shift 1, Station 8 (160 Volunteers)
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm- Shift 2, Station 8 (160 Volunteers)
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm- Shift 3, Station 8 (160 Volunteers)
5:00 pm – 7:00 pm- Clean Up (15 Volunteers)

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS !!! Our volunteers will be broken down into several groups for the event. Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6th at 10:30am. There are plans to have monthly meetings until the day of the event as well as individual team meetings. Please see the description of each team below:

Leadership team (Kenneth/Mike) Works with FMSC team development advisor and event planner
1. Schedule the event (November 3-4, 2017)
2. Complete MobilPack agreement
3. Be the primary contact for FMSC staff
4. Communicate with core volunteer teams, keeping everyone updated on each teams progress
5. Organize and facilitate meetings with teams
6. Educate teams, donors and volunteers on FMSC and hunger related issues

Prayer team (Palisades Lutheran Church) Work with FMSC development advisor:
1. Collect prayer request from all teams
2. Pray for all team members and all aspects of the upcoming event
3. Pray for volunteers and donors who will participate in the November 3-4 event
4. Pray for the children who will receive the food
5. Pray for the partners who will distribute the food
6. Lead devotionals and prayer at team meetings
7. Work with promotion team to communicate prayer needs to the community and volunteers
8. Work with promotion team to share how God is working in the event and how prayers have been answered

Promotion team (Kenneth/Mike) work with FMSC Marketing:
1. Create plan and timetable for publicizing event
2. Work with other teams to help meet their needs
3. Create publicity material
4. Reach out to local media and invite them to attend the event and to cover it in advance

Fundraising team (Kenneth/PLC & Mike Pali) Work with FMSC developments advisor:
1. Create and develop a fundraising plan
2. Implement fundraising plan; collected and submit donation to FMSC every two weeks
3. Update FMSC on fundraising amount
4. Work with promotion team to communicate fundraising activities
5. Work with and promote the fundraising website of FSMC

Logistic team (Mike and Rocky Montiz @ Pali High):
1. Submit meal packing site information to the events planner for approval
2. Create a meal packing shift schedule with event planner
3. Secure and arrange for site supplies
4. Secure and arrange for a forklift
5. Work with the event planner to coordinate ideal truck arrival and departure times
6. Work with volunteer coordinator team to recruit and coordinate set-up, clean-up and traffic parking

Volunteer team (Mike/ Kenneth):
1. Recruit volunteers for packing event
2. Recruit people to check in packing volunteer
3. Manage online registration
4. Print volunteer roster and enter volunteers attendance after event

Hospitality team (Mike/Kenneth):
1. Greet, guide, and direct packing volunteers
2. Coordinate food truck for volunteers and FMSC meals and snacks
3. Coordinate refreshments for volunteers
