Point-of-View from long-time Chamber Executive Director, Arnie Wishnick:
Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce board member Sarah Knauer of Amalfi Estates and Chmaber Immediate Past-Chair, Adam Glazer of Liberty Mutual Insurance, have started an Emerging Leaders program.
The group was in planning for over a year and kicked off this past January. Thus far it has been quite successful. It has proved to be a great way for young professionals to meet-up with people with like interests and similar goals. It’s probably the best way to enhance business skills, to get known, and become a community leader.
I shouldn’t have been surprised to learn that Emerging Leaders are actually Emerging. I still receive my hometown newspaper from Oak Park, Illinois. In this week’s Wednesday Journal in a column titled “Getting Down To Business” the article reads, “Young professionals are recently forming a platform for people to
cultivate their new-ish careers. With goals of fellowship as well as development, these leaders in our business community have built an affinity group that is welcoming, fun and, yes, professional. And while young professional gatherings may include the inevitable evening craft beer events and morning meet-ups to discuss work-life balance strategies, a consistent theme has been outreach to nonprofits. Our Young Professionals group welcome “youth-identifying” business people whether you live or work here.”
The Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce wishes wonderful success to all of these young professionals throughout the country and for them to keep having fun, to keep learning and to keep becoming the incredible leaders of now and tomorrow!
